Just 12.5 mm tall like its siblings, CobiNet’s new LSA-HD^® ground module rounds out the existing portfolio of connection and disconnection modules from this manufacturer and one-stop-shop provider of telecommunications, data networking and fiber optic components as well as cabling systems. This completes CobiNet’s LSA‑HD^® product family, whose standout features include double packing density, 45°-angled contacts and ease of handling. Time and cost savings together with suitability for retrofitting to existing distribution frames are further plus points.

Up to 39 ground drain wires can be connected to the ground module, allowing solderless and screwless connection of ground drain wires to a ground terminal, with no need for wire stripping. All the contacts are bridged and connected to the connection cord. The ground module comes in a red housing and is complemented by a 0.5 m long, green-yellow connection cord with cable lug.

A positive overall mood among visitors and exhibitors, perceptible signs of an economic upturn and a very constructive climate at the trade show – that’s how we sum up Light + Building 2010. The trade show organizer announced that attendance was up by some eight percent compared with the previous event, and that was reflected in a response at our booth that surpassed all our expectations. It was particularly gratifying to see that our customers had accepted our invitation and that there was a sharp rise in the number of new prospective customers who made it a point to visit our booth. And it was very clear in our talks with visitors that our LSA-HD^® components, which enable significant increases in capacity, have generated a lot of interest. The hit among our innovations was our LSA Cat. 7 cable connector, with its outstanding measurement protocol, and our trunk cable, which impressed visitors with the fact that it can be produced and pre-assembled to suit the customer’s individual wishes.

Among its other benefits, the new TopLine trunk cable from CobiNet offers customers this critical advantage: they can freely select and combine TopLine data cable and TopKey module performance. These systems are already GHMT-certified and field-proven. Due to the cable makeup without a common sheath, the leg length can also be predefined by the user with no restrictions. Customers get a cable section custom-made to meet their individual requirements – and they determine the length and the exact number of groupable cables between 6 and 24. The individual cables are brought together in a highly flexible, extremely stable fabric tube, so that even a trunk cable comprising 12 or 24 Cat. 7a 1200MHz AWG 22 cables can be easily and quickly installed.

The new TopConnect RJ45 Cat. 6 class E patch cable connector is distinguished by a very compact design. With its keystone format, it fits in all TopKey systems and provides the very highest flexibility. The TopConnect RJ45 is particularly well suited for consolidation points and cross-connect cabling. Its high-quality, fully shielded metal housing is made of die-cast zinc and has a nickel-plated surface. Use of the patch cable connector ensures compliance with permanent link Class E (250 MHz) in accordance with ISO/IEC 11801.

With its TopConnect LSA Cat. 7 600MHz cable connector, CobiNet is introducing a new network component that connects AWG26 up to AWG22 cables without having any significant effect on transmission quality. The chamber screening of the individual pairs ensures superior transmission parameters that have never before been available for cable connectors. With this cable connector, high-quality installation cables are easily able to exceed the values required by the component standard. As a result, no problems are encountered even in a mix-and-match data network. The proven LSA technology with contacts angled at 45° ensures quick and easy installation.

CobiNet GmbH has now also received Deutsche Telekom AG approval for the production process and customization of its EVs 08 HD with main cable and splitter cable. In addition to the enormous space saving and considerable capacity for expansion provided by the EVs 08 HD thanks to the doubling of packing density, significant time and cost savings can also be achieved by supplying a product that is individually tailored to customer requirements.

CobiNet's new pull-out 19" 1U splice box features a new, greatly enhanced design with depth-adjustable mounting brackets and interchangeable front panels. Both 45° and 90° rear cable entry is possible. Thanks to the optional screw fastening of the splice cassettes, up to four cassettes can be vertically stacked. Alternatively, the cassettes can be fastened with bolt and thumb screw. Since the port identification for SC simplex and ST cutout is printed below the couplings, labeling can be provided above the couplings.

With its new 19" 1.5U TopKey patch panel, CobiNet GmbH once again enables huge space savings, making it possible to accommodate 48 RJ45 TopKey modules within just one and a half rack units. This means that 96 mounting positions instead of 72 can be implemented in the space of three rack units.
