The CobiNet FttH installation set with pre-terminated socket. Simply unroll, insert, fix – done!

The Rollerbox FttH installation set includes a factory-pre-terminated socket and a pre-assembled cable for installing of FttH network connections. This avoids time-consuming installation work in the home, as the connection box is already terminated ready for use.

The FttH installation set can be easily installed by one person thanks to the integrated fixation inside the box for easy unrolling of the cable.

Variants with lengths of 30, 50 and 70 metres are available.

For easy connection of the data cable at the building transfer point, we recommend the use of a field-terminable fibre optic connector (see below)

The fibre optic cable is either inserted directly into the empty conduit or attached to a pulling aid using the integrated pull-through eyelet and pulled to its destination.

Unroll

The reel integrated into the Rollerbox allows the cable to be easily unroll during installation. For one-person installation, the packaging has a bracket that can be used to attach it to a ladder or chair, for example. This allows a single person to lay the cable with ease.

Install surface-mounted or flush-mounted box

After laying the cable, the fibre optic connection box – either surface-mounted or flush-mounted, depending on the installation situation – is installed using the standard screw connections. When using the flush-mounted version, both the central cover from CobiNet and UAE central covers with a 45° angled outlet can be used to cover the fibre optic adapter. These are available for almost all common switch ranges from the range manufacturer.

Shorten the cable and connect it

Cut the cable in the basement to the required length and fit a field-terminable fibre optic connector. Then plug the connector into the transfer housing.

Quick and easy – five steps to a fibre optic connection

The fibre optic cable connected to the junction box can be easily pulled through existing empty conduits or cable ducts to the house transfer point by just one person – no second specialist is required. A bracket for securing the cable reel during unwinding is integrated into the roller box.

At the transfer point, the fibre optic cable is cut to size and connected with a field-terminable connector. This well-designed solution avoids the need for cumbersome storage of excess cable length, which is often necessary with connection sets with pre-assembled ferrules or connectors.

The CobiNet fibre optic connection box serves as the end termination of the FttH network at the end user’s premises, to which the operator’s active equipment (e.g. router) is connected via fibre optic patch cables. The box can be mounted either on the surface or on a top-hat rail (DIN TS35). The integrated splice cassette and excess length management ensure that the bending radii of the pigtails and the fibre optic connection cable are optimally maintained.

The compact flush-mounted fibre optic connection box with integrated splice cassette offers a solution for FttH connections that is compatible with all standard switch ranges. Thanks to its low installation depth, the connection box can also be installed in flat switch boxes.
